What is 5G?

5G is the fifth generation of cellular network.

For most people, it means you’ll be able to download music and video much, much faster.

Technologically, it’s a big step forward and will allow things like self driving cars and interactive augmented reality devices to work – but they’re all still some way in the future.

Should I care about 5G?

In the US right now, probably not. While there are 5G phones on sale, and Apple’s inclusion of the tecxhnology in the latest iPhone will give it a huge boost, the networks simply aren’t ready yet.

At the moment, 5G is great – if you have coverage. And for most people, you probably don’t have coverage. That’s not to say 5G won’t be a hugely important thing in the future, we just aren’t there yet.

5G is NOT a health hazard
